I had an idea for a post and it eludes me in the early morning. I would like to be an early morning person, but it seems that all I can really manage are autopilot tasks: fold some laundry, empty dishwasher, make tea, turn on computer.

I have had an experience with profound gratitude. I was bitten by a Brown Recluse and my results were notable but I do not have the level of tissue death that can happen. I am so thankful for this, and when confronted with the information on how severe it could have been I burst into tears and felt literally weak with gratitude.

I'm NOT going to lose the finger which was bitten, I'm NOT going to lose the use of it and I'm NOT going to forget to be careful with things which have been untouched for a long time. A new awareness of safety practices and a new awareness of the constant watchfulness of the God Who Really Cares is a nice combination for keeping fear at bay.

I am going to read Blue Like Jazz over again - it is full of profound statements about being real.
